Postage stamps dedicated to 20th anniversary of Armenian army issued in Yerevan

Armenia’s national post operator “Haypost” issued two postage stamps dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Armenian armed forces. The ceremony of the stamps’ cancellation was held Thursday in Yerevan.

YEREVAN, February 9, /ARKA/. Armenia’s national post operator “Haypost” issued two postage stamps dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Armenian armed forces. The ceremony of the stamps’ cancellation was held Thursday in Yerevan.
“I think that millions of philatelists all over the world learn Armenian culture through stamps. Today’s stamps dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Armenian army also carry a political context as they spread information about the Armenian army”, Hovik Musayelyan, the chair of Philatelist Union of Armenia, said at the ceremony.
He expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Transport and Communication, Ministry of Defense, as well as post operator “Haypost” for issuing the stamps.
The first stamp depicts the Armenian tri-color and the armed forces emblem. The second stamp depicts illustrations symbolizing types of troops . In the forefront is an Armenian soldier, and in the background infantry troops.
On the left side are aircrafts, leaving the Armenian tri-colored trail. The emblem of the Armenian Armed Forces is depicted in the right side. The print-run is 50,000 stamps. The nominal value of stamps is 220 and 208 drams respectively. The stamps were designed by Aram Gyumishian and printed by French Cartor publisher’s. -0-
