YEREVAN, February 24. /ARKA/. Some 83 people in Armenia who were hospitalized with suspected coronavirus all tested negative, Artavazd Vanyan, the head of the National Center for Disease Prevention and Control, said at a news conference on Monday.
“People who arrived from China and who had, for example, a temperature of 37 degrees, were immediately hospitalized, examined, and tested for coronavirus,” he said, noting that none tested positive.
According to Vanyan, in total, more than two thousand people were under medical control in Armenia since the outbreak of coronavirus in January.
Since January 29, all people arriving in Armenia from countries unfavorable from an epidemiological point of view, in particular from China, have been provided with special leaflets to fill in their residential addresses. The leaflets were developed as a preventive measure to protect the public health of Armenia from the new coronavirus.
The leaflets are filled on the plane and upon arrival are handed to the medical staff at the health checkpoints.
According to China's State Health Commission, as of February 24, the number of people who were killed by the coronavirus increased to 2,592, while 24,734 people recovered. On Sunday, authorities in 21 regions of China announced that as of February 22, not a single new case of coronavirus was recorded in their territories. -0-
