State Revenue Committee returns 3.2 billion drams to beneficiaries of income tax refund program

Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) has returned 3.2 billion drams to beneficiaries of an income tax refund program, Arman Mirzoyan, the head of an SRC department, said today.
YEREVAN, September 19. /ARKA/. Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) has returned 3.2 billion drams to beneficiaries of an income tax refund program, Arman Mirzoyan, the head of an SRC department, said today.
The program applies to borrowers of mortgage loans, who are refunded payroll taxes to pay loan interests. He said 2000 people have benefited from this program in the first 8 months of the year.
"In general, the growth is obvious, the refunded money has almost doubled compared to last year, and the number of beneficiaries has also increased," Mirzoyan said.
He said considering the size of the population and the number of newly-built buildings in Yerevan, the bulk of the beneficiaries are from the capital.
Mirzoyan also noted that there are certain restrictions, which have become effective this year; the value of the transaction should not exceed 55 million drams, and the amount that is to be returned should not exceed 1.5 million drams a quarter. Also, each beneficiary can apply for compensation only once.
This program has been in force in Armenia since 2015. ($ 1 - 484.37 drams). --0--
