The tender for the development of the project for the construction of the new 12th station of the Yerevan metro, ‘’Surmalu’’, is expected to be announced by the end of 2024, Yerevan Mayor's Advisor Aneta Babayan said on Monday.

YEREVAN, December 2. /ARKA/. The tender for the development of the project for the construction of the new 12th station of the Yerevan metro, ‘’Surmalu’’, is expected to be announced by the end of 2024, Yerevan Mayor's Advisor Aneta Babayan said on Monday.

According to her, the draft technical specifications (TS) were shared with international partners to gather suggestions and comments.

"We plan to hold an international tender for the implementation of design and technical-economic studies... The comments have already been received, and the project is currently being updated," Babayan said at a working meeting at the Yerevan City Hall.

About the ‘’Surmalu’’ Station

At the moment, it is unclear exactly where the 12th ‘’Surmalu’’ metro station will be located. It is expected to be situated between the two existing metro stations, ‘’Sasuntsi David’’ and ‘’Zoravar Andranik’’, providing access to the two shopping centers, ‘’Surmalu’’ and ‘’Petak’’, as well as offering an alternative urban transportation route to Sevan Street. This is expected to help alleviate traffic congestion in the area.-0-
