Weather forecasters issue warnings on 42-degree Celsius heat wave coming to Armenia
YEREVAN, August 9. (ARKA). The daytime temperatures in the Ararat Valley, capital Yerevan and Syunik valleys on August 10-14 will rise to 40-42 degrees Celsius, Armenia's Hydrometeorological and Monitoring Center has warned in a weather forecast for the next few days.
It said on August 10-14, high fire danger level is expected in Yerevan, Ararat Valley, Aragatsotn, Kotayk and Vayots Dzor foothills, as well as in Syunik and Tavush valleys.
The intensity of ultraviolet radiation in Ararat Valley, Kotayk, Aragatsotn highlands, Shirak and Tavush will be higher than normal.
It is recommended to void being under direct sunlight from 11:00 to 17:00. The wind is southwest with gusts up to 2-4 m/s. In the foothills of Aragatsotn and Kotayk, as well as in Armavir the wind is likely to accelerate to 13-16 m/s in the evening hours. -0-
