YEREVAN, July 28. /ARKA/. The Municipality of Yerevan has announced an open competition for the restoration and improvement of the territory adjacent to the building of the Spendiaryan National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater.

According to the municipality, the prize fund of the competition is 16 million drams, of which 8 million drams are for the first place, 5 million drams for the second and 3 million drams for the third place.

The competition has been announced for the concept of landscape architecture and design for the restoration and improvement of the territory adjacent to the building of the National Theater of Opera and Ballet, in particular, Freedom Square, the area between Mesrop Mashtots and Sayat-Nova avenues, as well as Tumanyan and Teryan streets including Swan Lake.

The objective of the competition is creation of an aesthetically attractive, environmentally sustainable, comfortable space for recreation of citizens in the historic center of Yerevan. -0-
