YEREVAN, March 23. /ARKA/. The Armenian government has allocated today more than AMD 4.86 billion additionally for holding the European Weightlifting Championships in Yerevan.

The government said some expenditure items have been adjusted and the financing has been increased after discussions held by the Weightlifting Federation of Armenia and the European Weightlifting Federation

The European Weightlifting Championship will be held in Yerevan Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex from April 15 to 23.

Some 536 athletes from about 40 countries, including from Azerbaijan, have registered to participate. Armenia will be represented in the tournament by 24 weightlifters. The championship will be ranked for the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024. ($1 - 388.33 AMD). -0-
