Armenia's national postal operator placed under management of High-Tech Industry Ministry

After 14 years of trust management, Armenia's national postal operator Haypost CJSC has been placed under the management of the Ministry of High Technology Industry.
YEREVAN, April 22. /ARKA/. After 14 years of trust management, Armenia's national postal operator Haypost CJSC has been placed under the management of the Ministry of High Technology Industry.
HayPost was run by the Dutch HayPost Trust Management company, owned by an Argentinean Armenian businessman Eduardo Eunekian (the contract expired on February 15, 2020).
Haypost CJSC is considered by the Ministry as a structure of strategic importance. On April 17 Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan asked the Ministry of Hi-Tech Industry to present options for choosing a management model for the national postal operator HayPost CJSC.
Earlier Hayk Karapetyan was appointed as Haypost interim director.
The agreement on handing HayPost to the trust management of the Dutch Haypost Trust Management B.V. was signed on November 30, 2006 in Yerevan for a period of 5 years with the right to prolong the contract for the same period.
On November 16, 2010, an agreement was signed with HayPost with the proposal to change the management form of the company in order to build a structure that is modern and in line with international standards.
Haypost CJSC is the national postal operator of Armenia, providing postal, financial and retail services. Currently, the company operates in all cities of Armenia and the most remote villages through 900 post offices. –0--
