Electricity generation in Armenia increased by 14.8% in January-June, 2022

YEREVAN, July 8. /ARKA/. Power generating facilities of Armenia generated a little over 3.8 billion kWh of electricity in the first half of 2022, which is 14.8% more than in the same period of time in 2021, according to the data published by the National Statistical Committee (NSC).
About 1.3 billion kWh of electricity were produced by thermal power plants which work on natural gas. Their share increased by 56.8% , a little over 1.2 billion kWh were produced by hydro power plants (10.4% decrease) and over 1.2 billion kWh were produced by the nuclear power plant (7.9% decrease).
Also, wind power plants produced 0.8 million kWh of electricity (54.3% growth), and solar power plants produced 40.6 million kWh (more than twofold increase). -0-
