The 11th DigiTec expo 2015 opens in Yerevan

Speaking at the opening of the 11th annual DigiTec Expo 2015, the executive director of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE), Karen Vardanyan said this event allows children to see the future, young people - to use technology, and older generations to see that the technological progress they achieved at their time is moving ahead.

YEREVAN, October 2. / ARKA /. Speaking at the opening of the 11th annual DigiTec Expo 2015, the executive director of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE), Karen Vardanyan said this event allows children to see the future, young people - to use technology, and older generations to see that the technological progress they achieved at their time is moving ahead.
Deputy prime minister Vache Gabrielyan said the exhibition not only shows the annual growth of the IT sector, but also is a good venue for meetings of entrepreneurs, including foreign and international companies, represented in the Armenian market.
"The high-tech sector is the most promising and rapidly growing industry, which gives also a strong push to other areas, acting as a platform for highly skilled labor force," said Gabrielyan.
Within three days, 170 companies from Armenia, Taiwan, China, Ukraine, Belarus, Iran and other countries will be showcasing their products and services.
This year’s expo features a number of Armenian companies which have achieved international success - PicsArt, Zangi, Joomag, Shadowmatic, Triada Studio, as well as leading international companies, including, Ericsson, Huawei, Keysight Technologies and Calix.
The festival will feature also an EcoRobot contest, in which robots will be created from industrial and household waste. The aim of the contest is to draw public attention to environmental issues. The organizers of this event want to show that technology can be used to protect environment by transforming recycled waste into beautiful and useful items.
Ucom telecom provider will present modern solutions in the field of television, as well as 4G network based on LTE technology. Ericsson will introduce visitors to the latest solutions in the field of radio and transport (microwave). Microsoft Innovation Center will offer training courses.
Developers of Zangi, an Armenian analogue of Skype, will present its capabilities for video calls and sending interactive messages, photos and video. Triada Studio will present Shadowmatic mobile game, which won the Apple Design Award. Oracle and Cisco will also present their products, while VMware will show its solutions in the field of virtualization and cloud infrastructures.
