Tourism sphere is quite competitive in the region today, Head of Tourism Department at Armenia's Ministry of Economy Mekhak Apresyan said.
YEREVAN, June 15. /ARKA/. Tourism sphere is quite competitive in the region today, Head of Tourism Department at Armenia's Ministry of Economy Mekhak Apresyan said.
“According to the statistics, Armenia’s domestic tourism is growing from year to year, but still we have much to do, especially in infrastructure development,” Apresyan told the journalists on Thursday.
Armenia should use its competitive advantages which its neighbors do not have, such as human resources.
“Armenia’s advantage is its unique historical monuments, moreover, we should use the fact that our country is attractive for tourists as it was the first to accept Christianity as its official religion,” he noted.
Armenian tourism agencies offer a broad range of services in Armenia and Karabakh, he added.
“Just in the framework of social package each of tour operators offer over 30 services. And the prices are not higher than in neighboring Georgia. For example, prices in Tsakhkadzor are the same as in Georgian winter resort Bakuriani,” he underlined. --0--
