Oktogo.ru: Yerevan among Russian travelers’ top ten destinations in CIS in November holidays

Russia’s Oktogo.ru online hotel reservation service has named top ten cities in the Commonwealth of Independent States that attract Russian independent travelers in November holidays. They are Minsk, Yerevan, Astana, Baku, Kiev, Bishkek, Kishneu Odessa, Chisinau, Almaty, Vitebsk and Tashkent.

YEREVAN, October 30. /ARKA/. Russia’s Oktogo.ru online hotel reservation service has named top ten cities in the Commonwealth of Independent States that attract Russian independent travelers in November holidays. They are Minsk, Yerevan, Astana, Baku, Kiev, Bishkek, Kishneu Odessa, Chisinau, Almaty, Vitebsk and Tashkent.
The number of Internet reservations by Russians in CIS countries’ cities has doubled, compared with 2013.
“Goods and services here are cheaper than in European countries, everybody speaks Russian and no visas are needed,” said Olga Favarizova, chief of the Travel.ru (Oktogo) company’s operational unit.
“Russians travel to CIS countries for three days, on average, where pay for their accommodation in hotels about 3,500 rubles per day.”
According to Oktogo.ru, the longest trips will be made by Russians in November holidays to Yerevan – for five days, on average, and the shortest to Astana – for two days.
Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, was singled out in as the Oktogo.ru ranking as the most expensive city, and Kishinev, the capital city of Moldova, as the most consumer-grade city. Russians paid 7,200 rubles, on average, for per-day accommodation in hotels in Astana, while in Kishinev they paid 1,500 rubles.
In Oktogo.ru ranking, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Uzbekistan are pointed out as the most popular CIS countries for Russians in 2014.
