EU has already mobilized over €2.5 billion in investments for Armenia, says European Commissioner
YEREVAN, September 19. /ARKA/. The European Union has mobilized over €2.5 billion in investments for Armenia since 2021, EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos announced at a press conference in Yerevan.
"We agreed to launch a high-level political dialogue (with Armenia), which, within the framework of our large-scale programs, will become a platform for joint work on the Global Gateway strategy. Since 2021, we have already mobilized over €2.5 billion in investments, and we can do more," Kos said.
The European Commissioner noted that today, on behalf of the EU, she signed an agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) dedicated to improving customs procedures and addressing the needs of refugees and their host communities.
"We are ready to invest in key infrastructure projects in the areas of trade, energy, and transport. This is in line with the goals of your Crossroads of Peace initiative," Kos noted.
According to her, the EU is also actively working to shape an international interregional connectivity agenda—linking Europe with Central Asia through the South Caucasus and Turkey, where Armenia plays an indispensable role.
