Armenian human rights defender sounds alarm: alternative road from Kapan to Chakaten is in the crosshairs of Azerbaijani troops

Armenia’s human rights defender Arman Tatoyan said in a Facebook post today that the safety of residents of several villages in the southeastern province of Syunik – namely Tshakaten, Shikahogh, Srashen, Nerkin Hant, Tsav and Shishkert- is being threatened by Azerbaijani forces because the Kapan-Chakaten alternative road is in their crosshairs and ‘therefore, the only way to restore the security and the rights of these residents is the removal of Azerbaijani servicemen from those areas.’

Georgia provides alternative road for Russia-bound Armenian vehicles

Georgia has opened today an alternative road for Armenian vehicles to travel to Russia across its Daryal Gorge, the Armenian Ministry of Emergencies said, adding also that the alternative road will be closed once the overland border crossing at Upper Lars reopens.
