Azerbaijan continues to hold Armenian POWs- ministry
After the ceasefire signed on November 9, 2020, (ending hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone) Azerbaijan continues to hold Armenian prisoners of war, including civilians, while the fate of hundreds of missing persons and dozen cases of enforced disappearances resulting from the First Nagorno-Karabakh War and the 44-Day War remain unclarified, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said today in a statement timed to to the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearance, established by the UN General Assembly in 2010, as a reminder of the horrific violations of human rights caused by enforced and involuntary disappearances.
