Armenian SRC to amend legislation and exempt labor migrants from paying taxes at home

Armenia’s State Revenue Committee SRC) told the Public television it is developing a set of amendments to the legislation on taxation of income of citizens working abroad (mainly in the Russian Federation).

Armenian labor migrants unhappy with SRC plan to tax them at home

In response to media reports on the authorities' plans to tax labor migrants, the State Revenue Committee (SRC) clarified that Armenian resident individuals receiving income subject to taxation in the Republic of Armenia and foreign countries, i.e. individuals who actually stayed in Armenia for 183 days or more during the tax year and/or whose vital interests are in Armenia, are obliged to pay income tax at the established rates (personal income tax in Armenia in 2023 is 20%).
