YEREVAN, November 2. /ARKA/. A $12-million program will be implemented in Armenia’s 18 integrated communities in 2017, David Lokyan, territorial administration and development minister, said Tuesday at budget hearings in the national assembly.

“The financial resources are provided by foreign donors and the Armenian government participates in the program with a 20-percent co-financing,” Lokyan said.

The minister told ARKA news agency that the program’s focuses are determined by communities themselves.

“But the bulk of the financial resources will be spent on purchasing building machinery, building inter-community roads, lightening streets, removing garbage, implementing economic programs and creating small markets,” he said.

Earlier, some communities in Lori, Tavush and Syunik provinces consolidated. -0----
