Ameriabank has not considered its participation in state subsidization rates of agricultural credits

Ameriabank does not consider appropriate to participate in the government subsidization program of percent rates agricultural credits, said Director of Bank Development Tigran Jerbashyan.
YEREVAN, April 22. /ARKA/. Ameriabank does not consider appropriate to participate in the government subsidization program of percent rates agricultural credits, said Director of Bank Development Tigran Jerbashyan.
By the decision of the Government of Armenia, credits by annual rate of 14% will be provided, of which 4% will subsidize the state. For this purpose 200 million drams has been already allocated. Credits will be provided in Armenian drams.
This program is attractive for the banks which have dozens of branches in all the regions and are engaged in financing the agricultural sector.
He didn’t completely deny participation of Ameriabank in this sphere.
“We consider that there is a serious segment – the sphere of food processing which may become a link for us. Through this area the bank may hold interest in this program”, he said.
Credit portfolio of Ameriabank in food industry is about $30 million.
Three Armenian banks participate in agricultural crediting program – ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank, Conversebank and Ardshininvestbank. Credits will be provided for two years in the amount of 3 million drams with repayment period of at least six months. ($1 – 374.92 drams).-0-
