A train transporting 1,280 tons of gasoline from Azerbaijan has made its inaugural arrival in Armenia
YEREVAN, December 19. /ARKA/. A train loaded with gasoline from Azerbaijan has successfully reached Armenia. The 22-car train, which is carrying 1,218 tons of A95 gasoline, arrived via rail through Georgia, as reported by the Armenian Public Television.
It is highlighted that this achievement was made possible due to Azerbaijan lifting restrictions on cargo transport through its territory to Armenia.
The relevant agreement was established on November 28 during a meeting between the Deputy Prime Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Mher Grigoryan and Shahin Mustafayev, in Gabala, Azerbaijan.
The fuel was procured in Azerbaijan, and the cargo is owned by two private companies.
Rail freight transport from Azerbaijan to Armenia became feasible thanks to agreements made between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington on August 8, along with memoranda of understanding signed between the US and Armenian governments.
Previously, trains carrying wheat from Russia and Kazakhstan have also arrived in Armenia via Azerbaijan.-0-
