YEREVAN, October 28. /ARKA/. Acba Bank is the official partner of the Armenia pavilion in the Green Zone of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17). In the pavilion, dedicated to Armenia's biodiversity and the importance of its conservation, the bank has also set up a special space for discussions.

As one of Armenia's leaders in financing green economy and energy-efficient projects, Acba Bank has consistently adhered to the principle of refusing to finance businesses that could cause significant damage to nature and the environment.

Today, approximately 90% of Acba Bank's transactions are conducted digitally. This allows the bank to reduce its environmental footprint by saving paper and reducing CO₂ emissions associated with customer visits to its branches.

"Throughout its operations, Acba Bank has consistently made practical contributions to biodiversity conservation and environmental protection. The bank has implemented numerous programs aimed at sustainable development, environmental protection, and support for various Armenian communities, particularly those in border areas. It is noteworthy that Acba Bank employees themselves have been actively involved in these initiatives. Over the past few years, with the direct participation of the bank and its employees, approximately 20,000 trees have been planted in various regions of Armenia," noted Narek Asatryan, Head of Public Relations at Acba Bank.

"Since 2011, Acba Bank has had a list of industries and activities ineligible for financing. In accordance with this list, the bank does not finance activities that could cause irreversible or significant damage to the environment and biodiversity. At the same time, Acba Bank supports companies and initiatives that contribute to the conservation and development of biodiversity." “At the same time, as part of its Sustainable Development Strategy, the bank sets the goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2035,” noted Ogan Alvandyan, Head of Sustainability at Acba Bank.

Acba Bank also published its first sustainability report, presenting the results of its work in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) areas.
