Alcoholic products in Armenia will be labeled according to EEU rules from October 15

YEREVAN, October 5. /ARKA/. The Armenian government decided today that starting from October 15 excise stamps affixed on Armenia-manufactured alcoholic drinks should correspond to a model designed for identification of goods effective in the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).
The purpose of such labeling is to create a digital ecosystem, which will be harmoniously integrated with the economy of the EEU member countries and will allow controlling the quantity and quality of goods in Armenia in real time.
The labeling of goods will be carried out by means of a tag with GS1 DataMatrix code. The digital labeling code will be unique for each unit of goods.
They will be provided to manufacturers and importers by the national operator. Thus, information about each product will be available in real time at all stages.
According to the Armenian authorities, the introduction of this system will contribute to the development of the digital economy. -0-
