Alliance Airline wet-leases Nord Wind to operate regular flights from Moscow to Yerevan

Armenian Alliance Airlines carrier has wet-leased Nord Wind Russian carrier to operate regular flights from Domodedovo airport in the Russian capital Moscow to Yerevan, Armenia, David Sargsyan, a representative of Alliance Airlines, said last Saturday.

YEREVAN, June 6. /ARKA/. Armenian Alliance Airlines carrier has wet-leased Nord Wind Russian carrier to operate regular flights from Domodedovo airport in the Russian capital Moscow to Yerevan, Armenia, David Sargsyan, a representative of Alliance Airlines, said last Saturday.
According to him, the maiden flight is scheduled for June 6. In his words, Alliance Airlines will operate flights from Yerevan to Moscow and vice versa five days, except Tuesday and Thursday. On this days they plan to operate flights to the second Armenian town of Gyumri.
‘We also plan to fly to Russian Nizhny Novgorod, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Rostov and also to Beirut and Tehran,' said Sargsyan.
According to Sargsyan, under the agreement Alliance Airlines has signed with the Nord Wind the flights will be carried out under the latter’s code, until Alliance Airline obtains its own license for flights. He also said that the Airline Alliance has already received ICAO code: SKX and radiotelephone call: SKY STORM.
With regard to ticket prices, David Sargsyan said the cost of ticket to Moscow, including all taxes, is 51,000 drams (a little over $100).
"Some companies announce a $49 ticket price, but after buying the ticket and paying additional taxes, baggage and other fees, the ticket price ups to $150. The final price of our tickets, as I have said is 51,000 drams,’ he said.
The founder and 100% shareholder of Alliance Airlines is Ararat Sargsyan, a former CEO of Armavia airline.
A wet lease is a leasing arrangement whereby one airline (the lessor) provides an aircraft, complete crew, maintenance, and insurance (ACMI) to another airline or other type of business acting as a broker of air travel (the lessee), which pays by hours operated.-0-
