Ameriabank and the Netherlands Development Finance Company (FMO) are willing to consider the possibility of co-financing major economic projects in Armenia, Ameriabank CEO, Artak Hanesyan said today.

YEREVAN, October 9. / ARKA /. Ameriabank and the Netherlands Development Finance Company (FMO) are willing to consider the possibility of co-financing major economic projects in Armenia, Ameriabank CEO, Artak Hanesyan said today.
According to him, the cooperation between the two organizations can be manifested in the form of syndicated loans, direct financing or co-financing of major projects.
"As you know, in terms of attracting capital for projects Armenia’s banking system is limited - there are clear guidelines for a single borrower, which do not allow financing large and important projects. In such circumstances, our partners in FMO are ready to consider the possibility of co-financing such projects,” said Hanesyan.
In turn, FMO chief investment officer Ruurd Brauwer noted that FMO can use new innovative approaches in the Armenian market in attracting new large syndicated loans and other international investors to Armenia.
Today Ameriabank CJSC and FMO (Netherlands Development Finance Company) signed a USD 20mln convertible subordinated debt facility agreement.
