YEREVAN, April 17. /ARKA/. Ameriabank has opened today a new branch in the town of Abovyan in the central Armenian province of Kotayk. This is the seventh branch of the bank opened outside the capital city Yerevan.

Andranik Khachatryan, head of an Ameriabank division in charge of regional branches, told reporters that
the bank will provide services on preferential terms to all those individuals and legal entities that will open accounts in the branch before July 31, 2019.

Khachatryan said the legal entities which will open bank accounts at the branch will be provided with Internet and mobile banking services as well as with business cards with 12-month free service. In addition, two heads of the legal entity will be provided with debit and credit cards also with free service for the first year.

According to him, Internet and mobile banking with free service for the first year, as well as all types of cards with the exception of Platinum and Infinite, will be provided also to those individuals who will open accounts at the branch.

"We present new offers across Armenia and try to provide all our customers with new high-quality services, creating competition in a particular region and financing new projects there," he said.

Arman Barseghyan, Ameriabank Retail Business Director, said preferential terms are provided when a branch is opened. “When we start operations in a new region or town, we start a campaign to attract new customers. The benefits include preferential tariffs for servicing accounts and bank cards,” he said.

Barseghyan said the next branch will be opened in the town of Etchmiadzin, to be followed by new branches in several other towns.

"We intend to expand the network of our branches and be widely represented in all regions of Armenia," he said, stressing that apart from expanding the branch network, the bank is working also to improve the quality of services, including longer working hours.

He recalled that since April 16 Ameriabank’s Contact Center has been working around the clock and throughout the week, saying it is an important circumstance for serving the citizens in emergency situations. He said the branch in Abovyan is the 19th, and as economic activity grows in the regions, Ameriabank, like other banks, will use new opportunities to expand its activities.

“Based on this logic, in the first half of this year we will be quite active in the regions. We intend to open branches in all those towns where we see our potential customers and the possibility of providing our services,” he said.

According to Barseghyan, the opening of the new branch in Abovyan has created 15 new jobs. "The branch started working with 15 employees, but in parallel with the expansion of the business, their number will grow to 25," he said.

Abovyan Mayor Vahagn Gevorkyan expressed hope that the opening of Ameriabank branch would become an incentive for business not only in town, but also in neighboring communities. He emphasized the fact that most of the bank’s employees are local residents.

The provincial governor Romanos Petrosyan, in turn, stressed the importance of Ameriabank’s activities in providing credit support to environmental, agricultural and social projects in the region.  -0-
