YEREVAN, November 27. /ARKA/. Ameriabank said today it has signed a $25 million syndicated loan agreement with the Dutch Development Bank (FMO) and the Austrian Development Bank (OeEB.

The loan will be used to lend to Armenian small and medium businesses, as well as to finance renewable energy and energy efficiency projects, the bank said in a press release today.

"Small and medium businesses play an important role in the development and stability of Armenia's economy. This segment accounts for about 40% of GDP. This long-term funding will contribute to the further expansion and development of SMEs in Armenia, as well as enhance the competitiveness in the domestic and foreign markets", the press release said.

Financing renewable energy projects will become an incentive to strengthen the sustainable development of this sector and secure energy efficiency of businesses and households, it said.

According to the press release, Ameriabank has attracted a total of $345 million worth lending from international lending organizations.
