Ameriabank to receive $12-million loan from EBRD to support SME, renewable energy and energy conservation

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will allocate a $12-million loan to Ameriabank to support the development of small and medium-size business, renewable energy and energy conservation.
YEREVAN, March 20. /ARKA/. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will allocate a $12-million loan to Ameriabank to support the development of small and medium-size business, renewable energy and energy conservation.
The related agreement was signed today by Ameriabank’s General Director Artak Anesyan and EBRD Yerevan Office Head Valeriu Razlog.
In accordance with the agreement, some $9 million will be directed to supporting SME, and $3—renewable energy and energy conservation.
“This is another agreement with the EBRD. Over the five years of our cooperation, the total value of all our agreements stood at $42 million,” Anesyan said as he signed the document.
According to him, this agreement appears as another step to advance the Armenian economy and support SME. He also said the AMD loans will be given for five years at 12% annual rates.
On his side, Razlog highly commended the deal.
According to him, EBRD prioritizes these two tendencies –lending to SME and renewable energy and energy conservation, in Armenia. These tendencies were elaborated last year, he added.
He also said the loans will be mainly available in AMD, thus Ameriabank customers will be able to avoid some exchange rate risks.
