Ameriabank’s lending since 2008 has exceeded $2 billion, Andrei Mkrtchyan, chairman of the Board of Directors at Ameriabank said Thursday.
YEREVAN, January 22. /ARKA/. Ameriabank’s lending since 2008 has exceeded $2 billion, Andrei Mkrtchyan, chairman of the Board of Directors at Ameriabank said Thursday.
"In 2008 Ameria Group acquired a small bank in Armenia with only $11 million capital and $25 million worth total assets. However, shortly afterwards the bank became a market leader and today it is the absolute leader in the banking system of the country by all indicators and one of the largest corporate taxpayers," said Mkrtchyan.
According to him, the bank's assets today exceed $1 billion, an unprecedented figure for the banking sector of Armenia.
‘Ameriabank is the largest creditor of the Armenian economy now, financing about 30 industries It is also a leader in terms of introducing innovative technology and a distinctive corporate culture and management system, being committed to the principles of corporate social responsibility," said Mkrtchyan.
According to him, the dynamic development was achieved also due to long-term cooperation and partnership with international financial institutions, which have provided it with about $500 million worth financial resources so far.
