Armenia and Karabakh produce 2,400 tons of honey a year
YEREVAN, March 19. /ARKA/. Beekeepers in Armenia and Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) produce  about 2,400 metric tons of honey a year, according to Sergey Nazaryan, the head of the National Union of Beekeepers.

Speaking at a news conference today he said according to their sources, there are at least 200,000 hives in Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh , which annually produce up to 2,400 tons of high-quality honey. He said the bulk of the output is sold in the  country. He said he did not have exact data about how much of Armenia-produced honey is sold outside the country.

"In particular, six tons of honey were exported to China in 2017. This may be a high indicator for us, but not a number we can be proud of . We can and must produce and export much more honey, "Nazaryan said. -0-
