Armenia plans to export sheep and goats to Jordan

Armen Hayrapetyan, the chief of Armenia’s State Food Safety Service had a meeting yesterday with a Jordanian delegation to discuss prospects for Armenian exports of sheep and goats to the Hashemite Kingdom and other Arab countries.

YEREVAN, December 4. /ARKA/. Armen Hayrapetyan, the chief of Armenia’s State Food Safety Service had a meeting yesterday with a Jordanian delegation to discuss prospects for Armenian exports of sheep and goats to the Hashemite Kingdom and other Arab countries.
Hayrapetyan said that livestock breeding in Armenia has a great potential, and that the government is taking steps to expand export opportunities and revitalize this sector.
Jordanian ex-minister of agriculture Said al-Masri was quoted as saying in a press release that his country is interested in increasing exports of sheep and goats from Armenia.
The parties were said to have discussed the need for direct negotiations on export of sheep and goats to Jordan, noting also that the authorized agencies of the two countries could mediate between commercial organizations. -0-
