Armenia recorded a 7.5 thousand increase in number of highly paid non-resident workers

YEREVAN, February 1. /ARKA/. The number of highly-paid non-resident workers in Armenia was up by 7.5 thousand people in early January 2023, compared to a year ago, deputy chairman of Armenian Central Bank Armen Nurbekyan said at the Amundi-Acba 2023 economic forum on Tuesday in Yerevan.
According to him, the 14.2% growth recorded in 2022 was largely prompted by the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
'It's no secret that foreign nationals (the bulk from Russia) who arrived and are arriving in Armenia have been having a big impact on demand," he said. He said that there is also a large flow of skilled labor into the country.
"In particular, since the beginning of last year there have been about 7.5 thousand more non-resident workers registered in Armenia. For comparison, before that the total number was 5 thousand," he noted. -0-
