Armenia's domestic trade up 21% in January-March 2023

Armenia's domestic trade upped 21% in the first three months of 2023 from the same time span of 2022 to over 1 (one) trillion  drams in current prices, the National Statistical Committee (NSC) reported.

YEREVAN, March 9. /ARKA/. Armenia's domestic trade upped 21% in the first three months of 2023 from the same time span of 2022 to over 1 (one) trillion drams in current prices, the National Statistical Committee (NSC) reported.

It said in 2023 March alone the domestic tirade amounted to 385.4 billion drams, an increase of 26.1% compared to March last year, and a 18.2% growth compared to February this year.

According to the NSC, the retail trade amounted to over 365.1 billion drams, up 1.5% from the first three months of 2022. The wholesale trade grew by 35.7 % to over 594.7 billion drams. Sales of vehicles raised over 48billion drams growing by 41.5% year-on-year.

Stores accounted for 81.5% of the retail trade or over 297.5 billion drams showing 3.2% y-o-y growth. Consumer goods markets accounted for 4.2% of the total or over 15.2 billion drams having slashed by 7.3%.

Farmer markets accounted for about 1% of the total or over 3.3 billion drams. Their share grew by 1.9% from the first three months of 2022.

Kiosk trade dropped by 4.8% to 1.5% of the total or over 5.3 billion drams. Other trade outlets dropped by 4.7% to over 43.6 billion drams or 12% of the total. ($1 – 386.44 drams) -0-
