Armenia’s former president Kocharyan to be re-elected AFK Sistema board of directors member

The former President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan will be nominated for the post of a director of Sistema (System) Russian corporation Board, according to the data published in Russian newspaper Vedomosti.

YEREVAN, June 1. /ARKA/. The former President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan will be nominated for the post of a director of Sistema (System) Russian corporation Board, according to the data published in Russian newspaper Vedomosti.

The list of candidates also includes 13 nominees as there will be 13 seats in the new Board of Directors (currently there are 12). Among the nominees there are acting independent directors of the Board – Armenia’s ex- President Robert Kocharyan, former head of KPMG's office for Russia Roger Mannings, former chief of Alcatel Lucent board Serge Tchuruk, founder of "Wimm-Bill Dann" David Yakobashvili, founder and the major shareholder of Sistema Vladimir Yevtushenko, AFK co-owners Alexander Goncharuk, Dmitry Zubov, Vyacheslav Kopyev Yevgeny Novitsky, and Sistema president Mikhail Shamolin.

There are also three new candidates- Investcorp former managing director Brian Dickie, ex-Minister of Economy of Luxemburg Jeannot Krecké, and Barclays Capital Vise Chairman Marc Holtzman. 

The former CEO of Deutsche Telekom Ron Sommer and ex-Chairman of AFK Leonid Melamed will withdraw from the Board of Directors. The number of independent director in the new AFK Board will increase from six to eight.

Voting will be held on June 30.

Kocharyan, a member of Board of Directors, holds 0,0009% of AFK Sistema’s stock. -0-
