Armenia’s jewelry industry grew by 64% in 11 months of 2015

Armenia’s jewelry industry in the first 11 months of 2015 surged by 64% from the year before to about 16 billion drams, according to the National Statistical Service (NSS). NSS said a total of 885.1 kg of jewelry were manufactured against 1,170.5 kg in the same period last year.

Diamond production amounted to 68,977 carats against 52,255 carats in January-November 2014.
Exports of precious and semi-precious stones, precious metals and relating products in January-November 2015 declined by 11% to about $183.8 million, and imports of these types of goods shrank by 64% to $101.5 million. -0
