YEREVAN, March 20. /ARKA/. Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) has reminded all taxpayers that the procedure and deadlines for calculating and collecting taxes, as well as tax privileges are established by law.

It listed in a statement the  types of tax privileges that can be established by the Tax Code or related laws  - deferral of the tax payment period, exemption from fines and penalties imposed for violation of the Tax Code, tax reduction, deferred payment and other benefits.

The SRC said neither it nor any other government agency is entitled to grant tax privileges to one or another group of taxpayers.

"Accordingly, the State Revenue Committee will continue to carry out its functions, urging taxpayers to timely and fully comply with their tax obligations," the statement said.

On March 16, the Armenian government declared a 30-day state of emergency in an effort to contain the spread of coronavirus. So far, 136 cases of the infection were confirmed in the country.

The majority of the confirmed coronavirus cases are related to two primary sources of infection with both persons arriving from Italy. According to Health Minister Torosyan, the condition of all patients is satisfactory. The country’s first coronavirus patient, a 29-year-old man evacuated from Iran in late February, was declared recovered earlier this week and discharged from hospital. - 0-
