YEREVAN, December 27, /ARKA/. The head of Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) David Ananyan said today that new cash registers, which are to be installed starting form January next year will help increase control over economic entities.
Speaking to reporters he said the SRC has a limited toolkit for controlling the market, while new cash registers will offer a larger toolkit to activate POS terminal features on cash registers. He said the priorities for next year are installment of new cash registers and urging citizens to demand cash register receipts.
He said ahead of New Year holidays, the number of complaints about the refusal of economic entities to provide receipts has increased, making the Committee use all administrative tools to exercise tighter control.
"Today we have only 500 employees, while there are more than 70,000 cash registers across the country. Even with round-the-clock work, we will not be able to control everything, ‘Ananyan said. He said in 2019, the Committee will initiate a legislative initiative to introduce videotapes to record whether cash register receipts are provided to buyers or not --0—
