Armenia stepping up cooperation with ICAO

YEREVAN, March 30. /ARKA/. Armenia is intensifying cooperation with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

An agreement to that end was reached at a meeting today between Armenia's Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and ICAO Regional Director for Europe and North Atlantic Nicolas Rallo, the Armenian government press service reported.

Grigoryan was said to have presented the current situation in the aviation sector of Armenia as well as problems and reforms implemented by the government.

He briefed Rallo on structural changes taking place in the Armenian aviation authorities, mechanisms for engaging qualified specialists and infrastructure programs under implementation.

The interlocutors discussed also the increased level of interaction between Armenian aviation authorities and ICAO, the possible use by Armenia of the technical and financial tools available to ICAO and other issues related to this sphere. -0-
