Armenian anti-trust agency finds breaches at petrol filling stations
YEREVAN, December 27. /ARKA/. Gegham Gevorgyan, the chairman of Armenia's State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition (SCEC), said a study of petrol filling stations revealed a string of breaches.

Speaking at a final news conference in the outgoing year he said a comprehensive solution must be found to eliminate these breaches. He explained that some of stations are located in wrong places, others fail to meet sanitary requirements.

"This does not directly affect competition, but the requirements of the law must be met. The study also found that some petrol filling stations sell poor quality fuel and some others underfill," he said.

As for prices, the head of the anti-trust agency said  they monitor the market in order to prevent breaches.

“The purchase and transportation make around 96 % of the retail price of petrol in Armenia. Other expenses are insignificant. We constantly monitor foreign fuel exchanges to track down all changes and to see in local prices are affected or not,"- he said. -0-
