YEREVAN, February 1. /ARKA/. Martin Galstyan, the chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia, said the regulator has not yet chosen a cryptocurrency regulation model.
"All regulators have one thing in common - no one knows at the moment what good regulation of crypto assets means,’ Galstyan told a Tuesday news conference.
He said discussions on this issue continue at the Central Bank and among other stakeholders, ‘but at the moment I cannot say that we have come to some final model, which in our opinion would be the best," Galstyan said.
He noted that the current approach is as follows: "crypto is not a currency, but a speculative asset, which is equated with property." --0--
