Armenian customs service prevents illegal import of Chinese bearings
YEREVAN, February 9. /ARKA/. Armenian State Revenue Committee said today that customs officers prevented an attempt of importing a large batch of bearings (13 tons) by Kupelian Brothers Company through the Meghri customs check point in the south of the country, which the company claimed were produced in the United Arab Emirates.

However, customs officers new that there is no bearing-manufacturing plant in the UAE. When the customs officers inspected the batch they found that the bearings were manufactured in China.

‘Chinese bearings are dumping products," according to senior customs inspector Samvel Hovsepyan.
The State Revenue Committee explained that anti-dumping measures are applied to imports of China-made bearings into the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) member states.

According to a relevant decision of the Eurasian Economic Commission, customs duties for import of Chinese bearings grow by 41.5% of the customs value. In addition, it was found that about 60% of the bearings were declared under the wrong code, which resulted in an incomplete collection of customs duties. -0--
