The Armenian ministry of economic development and investments is ready to support exporters if the Russian ruble falls, Suren Karayan, acting economy minister, told journalists on Thursday after the government’s session.
YEREVAN, April 13. /ARKA/. The Armenian ministry of economic development and investments is ready to support exporters if the Russian ruble falls, Suren Karayan, acting economy minister, told journalists on Thursday after the government’s session.
“We are keeping a wary eye on the situation over sanctions against Russia, since Armenia’s economy is closely connected with Russia, our major trade partner,” he said.
In his words, the Russian national currency exchange rate may have only a short-term effect on the Armenian economy, since “the situation poses no threat”.
The ministry, he said, is in frequent contact with Russian partners and Armenian exporters and pay special attention to the matter. -0---
