Armenian EEC board member says EEU is a unique amalgamation
YEREVAN, July 1. / ARKA /. An Armenian minister in the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Board Ara Nranyan described the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) as a unique and established amalgamation when speaking at an economic forum organized by the government of Armenia on June 30.

Nranyan argued that pessimistic forecasts abut the future of the trade alliance will only hinder the efficient operation of the economies of its member states.

Nranyan spoke also on integration processes and the advantages offered by the Eurasian Economic Union, saying that no integration association offers as many benefits and opportunities that the EEU has made available to the businesses and citizens of Armenia.

According to Nranyan, integration is a step by step process, and it is impossible to provide a solution to all problems in a short time.

"This is the road that we all must go. Today, all the countries in the region, including EEU members are experiencing certain economic difficulties. The devaluation of national currencies and the fall in consumer demand could not fail to affect the economic activity. But crises are characteristic to the modern economy, and we must always be prepared to address them,' he said.

The economic forum  was attended by Armenian prime minister Hovik Abrahamyan, MPs and representatives of government agencies, researches and experts.

The EEU is an international economic integration association, created on the basis of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space that came into force on January 1 this year. Its current members are Russia, Armenia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. Kyrgyzstan is expected to formally join it later this year.-0-
