The Armenian government refunded about AMD 363 billion to taxpayers in 2023, which is AMD 100 billion more than in 2022, the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) Rustam Badasyan said on Friday.

YEREVAN, 31 May. /ARKA/. The Armenian government refunded about AMD 363 billion to taxpayers in 2023, which is AMD 100 billion more than in 2022, the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) Rustam Badasyan said on Friday.

According to him, the refunded value-added taxes grew by 35% yoy to 75.4 billion drams. The refunded Income taxes were up 44% yoy to AMD 29 billion , while excise taxes refund grew by AMD 3.5 billion or about 200%.

According to the SRC head, the state budget revenues grew by AMD 296bn or 15.4% during the mentioned period. This growth was largely conditioned by the improvement of tax administration,’ Badasyan said.

He noted that the volume of the ‘shadow’ economy significantly decreased over the past three years and the volume of taxes in relation to GDP stood at 23.9 per cent. -0-
