Armenian government releases 144.5 billion drams to help companies and citizens amid coronavirus crisis

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today that the government has so far released 144.5 billion drams to help companies and citizens overcome the consequences of the coronavirus crisis.

YEREVAN, August 13. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today that the government has so far released 144.5 billion drams to help companies and citizens overcome the consequences of the coronavirus crisis.
He said 26.2 billion drams of that amount were spent on social programs, 17.5 billion drams on economic programs, another 19.9 billion drams were transferred through banks.
The prime minister also said that within the framework of government incentive programs, banks provided funds to entrepreneurs worth about 98.2 billion drams.
Pashinyan noted that assistance was also provided through subsidizing programs, including educational ones.
The Armenian government has approved 24 measures to counter the socio-economic consequences of the coronavirus. Some of them have been designed to show support to agriculture, tourism, SMEs, microbusiness, it and other industries, others - to support o various groups of the population.
Some of the measures have already been completed, some are still in the process, and the government is discussing new opportunities for assisting citizens.-0-
