Armenian government to seek to increase exports to 40% of GDP
YEREVAN, June 19. /ARKA/.  The government of Armenia will seek to raise the share of exports in the national GDP to 40% from 16% in 2016. According to its plan of actions for 2017-2022, to achieve this goal, the government will expand accessibility to and cooperation with the markets with which Armenia has preferential customs regimes - the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and the European Union, and also establish preferential regimes with other target markets.

In this regard, to expand the availability of export markets, the government will introduce before the end of 2017 an electronic system of self-certification for origin of goods (Registered Exporter System) as part of GSP + regime with the EU. It is also planned to intensify efforts to promote negotiations on trade regimes as part of EEU with China, Vietnam and Iran.

The government will also establish cooperation between importing and exporting companies in target markets, in particular, with Iran by the end of the year.

The government plans also to ensure the mutual recognition of jewelry seals in the territory of the EEU, the introduction of expert laboratories, ensuring the participation of Armenian companies in public procurement procedures on the territory of the EEU, the diversification of the supply of rough diamonds, and the simplification of the export procedure. --0--
