Armenian government wants to further cut red tape for law-abiding taxpayers

Armenia’s Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan gave the chief of government staff 10 days to develop a draft government decision on setting up an inter-agency working group that will have to promptly submit proposals on further cutting red tape for law-abiding taxpayers, reducing tax risks, and solving the identified systemic problems.

YEREVAN, February 22. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan gave the chief of government staff 10 days to develop a draft government decision on setting up an inter-agency working group that will have to promptly submit proposals on further cutting red tape for law-abiding taxpayers, reducing tax risks, and solving the identified systemic problems.
He said that although budget revenue collection rate surged by 125 billion drams in 2017 as opposed to the previous year, there are still persistent tax risks, tax evasion incidents and other relating problems.
He said the State Revenue Committee arranged recently a series of meetings with 500 taxpayers embracing 18 economic sectors. He gave the head of the Committee a week to present the identified outstanding problems and proposals for their possible solution. -0-
