YEREVAN, October 30. /ARKA/. Nearly 6-8% of the global jewelry items are produced by the Armenian jewelers, a president of Armenian Jewelers Association (AJA) Gagik Gevorgyan told ARKA Tuesday.
“At present, the Armenian jewelers are regarded as ones of the best in the world, who have designed items for all world’s celebrities, such as politicians, musicians, actors,” he said at “Prospects for Armenian jewelry development” conference in Yerevan, October 29-31, dedicated to AJA 15th anniversary.
Jewelries of the Armenian workers are valuable not only because they are hand-made, but also because they are penetrated with an ancient culture of the Armenian nation.
“That’s why we seek to gather them and return to business sphere of Armenia, and a free trading area will be an important aspect for achieving this goal,” he added.
“Prospects for Armenian jewelry development” conference is held within the framework of the Second jewelry exhibition, where one can find works of jewelers from 20 countries worldwide, such as Armenian, Russia, the U.S., Thailand, Italy, France, Lebanon and India.
