Armenian minister off to Moscow to negotiate increased exports of wine

Armenia’s newly appointed minister of agriculture, Ignat Arakelyan, has left today for Moscow on a two-day visit to hold negotiations with Russian officials on ways to increase exports of Armenian wines to the Russian Federation, Armenian ministry of agriculture said.

YEREVAN, October 5. /ARKA/. Armenia’s newly appointed minister of agriculture, Ignat Arakelyan, has left today for Moscow on a two-day visit to hold negotiations with Russian officials on ways to increase exports of Armenian wines to the Russian Federation, Armenian ministry of agriculture said.
It said in Russia the Armenian minister will have also meetings with representatives of importers and commercial organizations.
According to the Customs Service of Armenia, exports of wine in the first half of 2016 increased by 24.7% from the year ago to 779,900 liters. The customs value of exported wine was $2.5 million, up from $1.7 million in the same time span of 2015.
The bulk of exports- 604,200 liters- were delivered to Russia, up from 501,000 liters in the first half of 2015. -0-
