Armenian premier proposes to form platform for cooperation between public and private sectors
YEREVAN, December 15. /ARKA/. Karen Karapetyan, Armenian prime minister, met Wednesday with the heads of the ten companies which are the country’s biggest taxpayers to talk to them about their problems and the steps they expect from the government.

The entrepreneurs singled out too high extra taxation, too complicated tax and customs laws and too much time needed for customs clearing as their major problems.

Speaking about extra payments, the premier said that it is necessary to cooperate with the State Revenue Committee to set a certain schedule.

Responding to a remark blaming the increased competition at diesel market for depriving importer companies of their profits, Karapetyan said that the competition field itself will regulate the matter.

Expansion of large taxpayers’ activities, increase of industrial capacity and further development of the economy were among the issues discussed at the meeting.

The prime minister proposed to establish with concerned agencies a joint platform for more detailed discussions of the voiced problems and creation of constant communication between the country’s public and private sectors. --0----
