YEREVAN, September 25. /ARKA/. Armenian wineries and other processing companies have bought so far 74 thousand metric tons of grapes, Deputy Minister of Economy Arman Khojoyan said today.

Khojoyan and the executive director of the Armenian Viticulture and Winemaking  Foundation  Zaruhi Muradyan traveled to Ararat region to see the procurement process on the spot and talk to winegrowers.

Khojoyan said judging by the pace of purchases over the past three days,  on average, 8 to 10 thousand tons of grapes are purchased daily. The buying price per one kg of grape varies from 135 to 150 drams.

The deputy minister and the accompanying officials visited also the procurement station in the village of Vostan,  the Ararat Wine Factory, which plans to purchase about 22 thousand tons of grapes this year. The plant has acquired recently new production equipment and electronic weighing systems. The next stop was at the Proshyan wine factory and  the Aregak brandy factory. --0--
