YEREVAN, June 24. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) has approved today new prices of electricity for households. According to Garegin Baghramyan, the head of tariff policy unit at PSRC, the prices of electricity, both daytime and nighttime rates, for all households, will be reduced by 2.58 drams.
More precisely, the daytime rate for households (from 7.00 am to 11 pm is reduced from 48.78 drams to 46.2 drams (5.3% decline), and the nighttime rate - from 38.78 drams to 36.2 drams (6.7% decline) per one kWh.
According to Baghramyan, when calculating the new prices, the PSRC took into account the anticipated electricity production, the planned halt of the nuclear power plant for 120 days instead of the usual 45 days, and the loans borrowed for the construction of high voltage power lines from Armenia to Iran and Georgia. The new tariffs will come into force on August 1st.
The Public Services Regulatory Commission has unanimously allowed all power generating companies to raise their selling prices. Thus, the Armenian nuclear power will sell one KWh of electricity at 7.702 drams per 1 kWh, the cost of electricity to be sold by Yerevan TPP is 21.32 drams per 1 kWh, the cost of electricity to be sold by International Energy Corporation (it runs the Sevan -Hrazdan cascade of HPPs) is 5.405 drams per 1 kWh, the cost of electricity to be sold by Hrazdan TPP is 39.719 drams per 1 kWh, and the price of electricity to be sold by Hrazdan 5 plant is 39 6 drams per 1 kWh.-0-
